To find out system CPU is 64-bit capable or not, use /proc/cpuinfo.
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep flags
If result contains “lm” (Long Mode), system CPU is 64-bit capable.
As an alternative, use lshw (Hardware Lister).

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep flags
